Mga Klaseng Damo  

Annual weeds

•   complete lifecycle within a year

•  propagated only by seeds in abundant supply

•   Examples: itchgrass (Rottboellia), goosegrass (Eleusine)

Biennial

•   grow vegetative during the first year, then produce fruit and

  die the second year

Perennial weeds

•   Propagated by seeds, tubers, crown buds and stems, or

     rhizomes that grow underground or along the top of soil

•  The root-rhizome systems retain viability year to year

•   Persistent and difficult to control

•   Examples: purple nutsedge (Cyperus), cogon (Imperata),

  dayflower (Commelina)
